All of us have seen commercials and ads on TV. Whether they are for dove, pizza pizza, cell phone providers, or TV shows. But how about those government funded commercials? You've probably also seen those heart attack commercials, that give you the syndromes you have right before having a heart attack, while playing Beethoven’s music in the background? Or maybe the commercials that say: "On this and this date vote.” These commercials are characterized by the classic line at the end of the commercial: "This message is brought to you by the government of Canada". (If you're American and reading this, don't worry next week's blog will touch you more than now, sorry...)Ok, but for the Canadians out there, you probably know what I’m talking about. Now, I personally don't watch a lot of TV. Maybe one or two shows a week, if that. But I’ve seen these commercials, and heard them as well. Today, in the car on my way to Toronto, from St.Catharines, I hear a commercial that start out with some boy, who sounds like he's 12 and just been doped up with some date rape drug by his grandpa or something fucked like that...And he's naming various slang terms for drugs, from marijuana to lsd. Then this woman's voice comes on, and says something like, there are more and more terms, and more and more things to know. Help prevent drug use in Canada, visit www.blablabla.gc.caSo why this long intro, and why the subject line? Here in this capitalist little country we call Canada, we "stand for democracy" and "strive to protect our citizens" and the rest of the mumbo jumbo BULLSHIT! I'm sure most of the people reading this, agreed with the fact that Tim Horton's had some great, tasty ass coffee--- but you know what, I think Tim Horton’s should be re-classified as a drugstore...What is it exactly that they're doing? If not providing teens, and Canadian citizens with drugs. Why is it that we have ads all anti-drug and shit, and we don't care about the drug that's consumed the most by all the fucking addicts out there? The caffeine. We should have some kind of program for those people...You're telling me we've got issues with major drug users, like coke addicts and heroin junkies? How about the drug lovers who will idle and pollute air for fifteen to twenty minutes a day, just to get their fix? You know, 20% of kids go to school with a puffer, that's one in five children in school with asthma, that number has gone up dramatically over the past ten years! Here are some stats for you: Over half a million children have been diagnosed with asthma: it is the number one cause of school absences. For Canadian children, asthma is the most common long-term respiratory disease and accounts for more hospitalizations than any other chronic illness. Tim Horton's made $191.1 million CAD net income in 2006. As of July 1, 2007, there were 2,733 outlets in Canada, 345 outlets in the United States and one outlet just outside of Kandahar, Afghanistan. Some math now... 191.1 million divided by 3079 (2,733+345+1) = roughly 62065 $/year per Tim Horton’s. Divide that by 365 days in a year, that's roughly 170 dollars a day per Tim Horton’s... Keep in mind they're not open 24..7. Maybe 18 hours tops. Judging by the average order, and the typical wait time, that means at peak hours about 10-15 cars/SUV's idling in that drive thru for 2-3 minutes each. That’s about half an hour total (just peak times) idling and pollutants going into the air, everyday from TH addicts. So an average small car, with an engine size of 1.6 liters produces about 200 grams (0.2 kilograms) of carbon dioxide (CO2) per kilometer. But nobody thinks about that when they're buying their coffee. No one tends to think of that poor kid with the asthma... But enough with the stats, and facts, and environmental stuff... But when will it really be enough? When will our politicians come to realize that we are funding, and completely legally selling a majorly addictive stimulant to citizens, that deserve to be better informed. Alcohol is one of the most dangerous drugs, you can't just shut off the drunkenness, our brains have THC receivers... Alcohol just fucks the body right up! It'll make people extremely happy, or extremely violent, motor senses are gravely altered, and it's the most addictive yet available drug out there... Yet somehow, they make marijuana illegal, along with LSD, cocaine, heroin, Ecstasy, etc. But, drugs are the number one underground money maker for the North American Population... Think about this for a second. What if the government sold all the drugs I just named in a drugstore: fuck it already has the appropriate name... They could log how much a person is using', and tax the SHIT out of them, plus make them pretty expensive. They'd have way more than enough money to fund programs to help people who abuse them, and programs to inform them. It would reduce cost on policing, and the police power and money could go into more productive things: Like buying more coffees at Tim Horton’s. If you're a Tim Horton's lover, please, continue being one, don't let me stop you from buying that nicotine filled-caffeine overdosed-asthma causing delicious coffee. But I hope you can know in your soul, next time you buy a coffee... You are slowly adding breathing problems, to a child's life. Also, I would like to add that I do not support drugs by a long run, but hey, if it could change the economy, and reduce the population of prisons why not make it legal and then monitor it properly? I'm expecting strong rebuttals here, I’m really disagreeing with myself here, but I'm waiting to see what you have to say... So leave me a comment, or email me at hoops1237@hotmail.com

Alex KazamBRAND NEW Blog
Hello to whoever you are reading this. I'm going to skip all the usual blah blah blah, and go straight to the point. I figured I would run a sort of, social experiment of my own, just to see how stuff gets around in this sad reality we call society. I asked15-20 people, between the ages of 12-16, some simple questions, just to find out interesting things. (Nothing Personal and nothing relating to any sexual topics; if that's what you're looking for, you're reading the wrong bulletin) Amongst others, this was one of the main ones I really loved, and felt like I needed to ask: "Do you like President George W. Bush?"100% of everyone I asked said No. I then proceeded to ask why...The most popular answers where: "Because he's a dumb ass" "Because he's a fucking queer" or "'Cuz he's fucking retarded". Most of you reading this will probably agree with all this. You probably don't like Bush, but if I asked you why, you'd probably give me some ill-thought up, bullshit excuse of an answer because you don't really know why you don't like him. In fact, very few of you reading this could give me an answer like: "Because Bush and his oligarchic companions sabotaged American democracy so they could pillage taxpayer resources. "Now, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying if you couldn’t give me a well rounded answer like that one, that you are stupid, unintelligent, or a "dumb ass". In fact, on the contrary, I'm simply trying to look at how we see things through others eyes, without even noticing. Just because some kid's parents might have been in the living room, talking politics, or saying how much they hate bush, the kid might have over heard this, told his friends how much he hates bush, and that's how it started. I ask you now: If you hear gossip about some girl, or some guy, do you instantly believe it to be true and freak out in disbelief and tell all your friends?? If so, maybe you should re-evaluate your level of gullibility, and your level of shit-disturbance? Furthermore, on this beautiful instant messenger service, known today as : Windows Live: I typed and sent this same message out to 10 girls and 10 guys..."Are the rumors that I've heard about you true? "Preceded by nothing else in the conversation. No hello, no how are you, simply:"are the rumors that I've heard about you true?" I had a good laugh, when 5 of the girls freaked right out on me, said no, no, no! Without even asking what it was that I’ve heard. 3 of them said something along the lines of: " omg, wtf did you hear?!?!" and 2 of them didn't answer. As for the guys, 7 of them said: "What rumors" and 3 of them said: "fuck no!” So, to end this post, I leave you with some last thoughts: Next time you say you hate bush, why not give a nice, logical reason...Here are a few of them: Bush and his cabal of henchmen lied to the American people about Weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq, and they continue to obfuscate the truth while their companies cash in, Iraqis suffer and American soldiers die. Bush is bad for business and the economy. He is only interested in enriching himself and his friends. Bush is bad for the future. He is compromising the prosperity of tomorrow's America by shortchanging today's children. Bush is bad for the environment. The Bush Administration has manipulated the media to the point of undermining the Constitutional guarantees of a Free Press. Bush has tried to undermine the United Nations, a democratic institution created in large measure by Presidents Eisenhower and Truman. Without even understanding what the UN does, Bush has called it “irrelevant" when it fails to fall in line with his dictates. Bush is inarticulate and projects a stereotype abroad of Americans being ignorant and myopic. Bush torpedoes global agreements on everything from racism and global warming to biological weapons and land mines, and then expects the world to line up behind him. Bush took positive patriotism and global support in the wake of 9/11 and forced it behind his own narrow self-interest in Iraq. He hijacked 9/11 for his own benefit. And please, I am not pro-bush, if that's the impression you got. A lot of the things I may have said might have sounded like defense to bush, and please know that they where not meant to be. This was simply an example to get the bigger message across. This message was simply the understanding of how things we hear, from peers, parent, or teachers: Gravely influence our thoughts, and words. So fuck bush, and fuck the whole Bush administration...But often times we blame the states for going to war, and bombing Iraq. But do we even understand why we do, isn't it just because we've heard that war is bad, and bush is a dumb ass? Once again, I’m not saying war is good, but re-evaluate why the fuck you don't like the whole idea of the war on Iraq? How about the war against terrorism? Let me know what your thoughts are, comment this bulletin... comment my profile...or don't but it is time that as youth we began to speak up and start saying something to go against the stereotypical: "Kids these days..."I shall be putting up weekly posts on several hot topics, because I've had many recommendations to start witting out what I have say... So here it is. If you like it: Thanks, and if not, well thanks, because now at least you probably have a good reason for not liking it, right?
